SBI Art Auction is pleased to announce that “The 84th SBI Art Auction | Modern and Contemporary Art” will be held on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Hillside Forum in Shibuya, Tokyo.
The sale will present a wide range of international contemporary art, including one of David HOCKNEY’s representative prints, as well as original works by Gerhard RICHTER and Julian OPIE. Nearly 30 works by KUSAMA Yayoi, will also be offered, including the 1991 canvas Pumpkin, along with works on shikishi board, silkscreens, and etchings. Spanning different periods and techniques, the selection will provide an opportunity to explore the breadth of KUSAMA’s artistic practice developed over many years.
Andy WARHOL’s Campbell's Soup Box (Chicken Noodle) (1986) is a silkscreen featuring the artist’s iconic Campbell’s Soup imagery, with a Chicken Noodle Soup package filling the composition. The sale will also feature MISHIMA Kimiyo’s Comic book, in which everyday printed matter is reconstructed in ceramic; Jeff KOONS’s BALLOON VENUS DOM PÉRIGNON (2013), a special edition of his sculpture Balloon Venus, inspired by the Paleolithic “Venus of Willendorf” and created for Dom Pérignon; Keith HARING’s Radiant Baby from Icons series (Littmann P. 170); and NARA Yoshitomo’s Drumming Kid (No. YNF7319).
Alongside the auction, two special programs will offer new ways to experience art through its connections with different cultures and settings.
SBI Art Auction x BENTLEY TOKYO
Under the theme of “the richness of choosing and owning,” a value shared across the distinct fields of art and automobiles, selected works from the upcoming auction will be specially displayed at BENTLEY TOKYO Showroom from Thursday, October 1 to Tuesday, October 13, 2026, ahead of the auction preview.
Bringing together BENTLEY, which combines traditional British craftsmanship with performance, and works by contemporary artists in a single setting, the collaboration will focus on the value and experiences that develop through long-term ownership. Clients who purchase a Bentley through this collaboration will also be invited to a special art program.
Please note that visits to BENTLEY TOKYO Showroom are by appointment only. The special display will not be open to the public.

“SOUSHIN Special Tasting — From One Glass to the Future of Noto”
“SOUSHIN” is a premium brand that pairs Japanese sake aged for approximately 20 years by Matsunami Shuzo in Noto, Ishikawa Prefecture, with a specially commissioned bottle featuring a design by third-generation tattoo master Horiyoshi, a leading figure in Japanese tattoo culture. SOUSHIN will be served on the auction days, Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25.
Please note that availability is limited.
Matsunami Shuzo sustained damage in the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake. By offering the opportunity to experience this long-aged sake alongside the art auction, we hope to inspire greater appreciation for the people and culture of Noto and the region’s sake-brewing heritage. The specially commissioned bottle is also scheduled to be displayed at the venue.
This edition of “Modern and Contemporary Art” brings together contemporary art from Japan and abroad while introducing programs that connect art with automobiles, and sake with regional culture. Prior to the auction, most lots will be available for viewing during the preview at Hillside Forum in Daikanyama. Admission is free and open to all visitors, regardless of whether they plan to participate in the auction. The preview and auction welcome a wide audience, from established collectors to those taking their first steps into the world of art.
