Talk Show "Let's check the data! Is Art an asset?"

In conjunction with the 56th Auction "Tokyo Contemporary: Redefined", a talk show "Let's check the data! Is Art an asset?" will be held. We invite Mr. Takei and Ms. Ishii from QUICK Corporation's Innovation Planning Dept., who have been partly contributing to the annual report of "Japanese Art Industry Market Research Survey" supported by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. They will talk about the option of "buying art as an asset" with the supporting of SBI Art Auction’s transaction data.

As a financial and economic information service company in the Nikkei group, QUICK Inc. provides comprehensive solutions related to securities and financial markets, including asset management support and information network construction support services, and has been working on data analysis related to art as part of its research and development since 2017.
In 2020 and 2021, the company has partly contributed to "Japanese Art Industry Market Research Survey" with the results of a price data analysis of art transactions at public auctions in Japan, in relation to "Program for Nurturing Upcoming Artists who Lead the Next Generation", a commissioned project by Agency for Cultural Affairs.

In this talk show, we will introduce the characteristics of art as an asset and a comparison of several artists with the index specially developed this time using public transaction data from SBI Art Auction. We hope you will enjoy this opportunity to view art, which has diverse values, from the perspective of an "asset".
